Peace Palace Museum

Seasonal Events

Al Salam Palace Museum is one of the most important projects of the Emiri Diwan. The palace was designed and built in the 1950s as a residential residence for Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah. At the beginning of the sixties of the last century, after Kuwait gained its independence, there was a need to have an official guest house to host the official state guests who began to arrive in the State of Kuwait, especially after it gained its membership in the United Nations. Therefore, the then Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, transferred ownership of the palace to the state. The task of supervising the construction and equipment of the palace was undertaken by Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, then Minister of Finance.
